It seams that all proffesions have trouble with farming melee based enemies. I still can farm them easely with Rit/Me althought it takes more time then it did before, but taking some close range channeling spells with you does the job very well. I also carry 2 hats with me, 1 for channeling and another for restoration, then 12 of channeling and restoration and ofthen swap hats when you use certain spells. The spell activated with a certain attribute will stay that attribute strenght until it ends even when the attribute point dropped by changing hats. This way you can do 16 attribute channeling damage and 16 attribute restoration healing. Both maxed dmg for farming, works really well. A good tip is to use for each attribute an another hat to see easely from inventory which attribute you just changed.
Too bad this ain't working anymore for PvP, I did it a lot were I maxed my channeling dmg and when low on health I maxed my restoration.

The wonderful with this game, is that it does not force you to have a lot of money. You're forcing yourself to farm money for FoW / other rubbish items, that you don't really need.

Realize that the main focus of Guild Wars is not to have uber items (fow, 15k, crystaline ect.)

They are trying to move the focus over to teamplay again, wether it is playing as a team with heroes or with real players. I prefer real players.

well i dont think the nerf did much to rangers.....
i just solo barrage and since i shoot...theres nothing the monsters can do to stop me. trapping is also the same. in fact if u slap on some conditions like poison, bleeding, disease, etc. i think any1 should still be able to farm. it didnt totally ruin farming melees.....just made it a bit slower for many

Im positive there was'nt A single person here saying we are "Forced" to attain these items. It all boils down to an extremely simple aspect: We enjoy farming gold/items. In fact, I enjoy Solo farming because it offers A challenge that even PvP can't rival, need an example here huh?

Where in PvP are you going to find 15+ warriors that you effectively kill all alone? Please dont go into this "PvP is unpredictable and can't be compared" crap either, if that were true Protective Bond would be on our skillbars still.

As far as all of this has gone so far, I'm really deterred from continuing to play once I complete the game once.

There are two sides here, the "We don't care that farmers can't farm anymore" and the "FFS why does Anet repeatedly trash our favorite part of the game". Sure we'll adapt, but why do we have to keep adapting for someone elses shortcomings? It's becoming more of A grindfest than anything I've ever played before, this AI update only serves to make it worse.

On A final note, those of you who don't care... Please just try to have some sympathy with those of us who do and quit flaming at evey single thing that isn't PvP oriented.

Dont do much farming myself, really just go grab a few stackables, then the VERY limited space I have in inventory goes to items, which I then merch usually, as I dont often get "good" drops. Whats made me laugh throughout this thread are the people who seem to "need" to make thousands of gold in 10-15 minutes, or its no good. No patience, I guess. I could happily spend a hour killing stuff, and getting only 1k worth of stuff. Im not trying to change anyones style, but all these people saying "Im quitting"(because I cant get tens of thousands of gold in an hour just makes me wonder where their priorities are.

EH.. we all need to remember that everyones different. Personally... I to like to farm. I got my 15k that way. Besides it was all I had to do because I had beaten all the missions in prophecies and factions. For myself, and others obviously, there needs to be something there to increase replay value when you get the storyline done. This get quest, do quest, get reward, move on to mission, rinse and repeat is just like every other game released in the last two years.. mmo or not.

I read someone mention Diablo 2 lol. Man that is prolly the best game I ever played and I'll tell you why. It was fast as hell, it was consistant, and it had mad loot. The story sucked but whatever. It had unique armor sets. It had hell cows!!!!! I would play for hours just trying to piece together the immortal kings set lol.

Im just saying that, if you make a game that the hardcores can beat in a weekend or two, there better be something else there when its done. I think ppl are getting tired of doing things that give them a sense of accomplishment and then tomorrow they cant do it any more. I think Im done with this game too. Cuz when you pull back the Elonian covers it's still the same ol GW. It was a great run. At least blizzard had the sense to cut off D2 after two releases. I heard Titan Quest really kicks ass and that Diablo 3 is on the way. Sorry Anet.

i think a large part of the problem with the nerf is that the prices the merchants pay for items is completely crap. kanaxai's edge only worth 300-400 gold? come on, thats complete bs. if the merchants paid good money for drops, gold/rare or otherwise, then farming wouldnt be as necessary, because instead of merching a whole load of items for 1-2k, you'd get decent money from playing the game, and be able to afford items that are desirable.

loving it! but i do understand your point and completely agree with it, farming is good since people spend more time to get prettier items, nothing else! (except for the chinese farmers who trade it for real life money) people who dont want or dont have that much time, are not really denied anything but a prettier armor... with exactly the same stats!
